An Apple a Day... drawing
Here's something I'm working on right now. Its the saying "An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away", but I wanted it to look like an old horror poster. Its not great, but I'm just trying to start producing work again. Hopefully I'll knock it out in illustrator this weekend.

Talking Cat / Dancing Pumpkins

This is my first lip sync... sadly not a character, but it was a great opportunity to learn how to move a mouth with dialogue convincingly. I was given a cat head and I manipulated / painted the mouth positions with photoshop. :-)

To Glory!
Man, I've been really geeking out lately. I'm contemplating making this a part of a much more realized battle scene (I'll probably regret saying that).

Link to/of the Past, colorized
Blogger desaturates the JPGs quite a bit (for reasons that are beyond me), so check out the full image on my own website.

Link to/of the Past
Reading GameSpite's take on Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past in their newest Quarterly got me reminiscing on the feeling I used to get from playing the game when I was a wee lad. It was colorful and adventurous, with a feeling of a little grit, like everything was eroded by sand, wind, and time.
Yes, I get weird feelings while playing games.
So getting that feeling made me want to explore creating my ideal interpretation of Link. This isn't quite there, as there's something about how it is in my head that I can't get on paper. This would also definitely need coloring to really get my idea across, but for now, I thought I'd share this sketch in the meantime.

Eli & Amos Circumnavigate the Globe
I wrote a bit about this here, but I'll drop some technical specifics on your asses here. I'm like the anti-Duncan: he just let's the work speak for itself. :P
I rarely ever use the same process from one illustration to the next. This was done in Photoshop alone, my only brush being the hard-edged airbrush. Most shapes are on their own layers, with their textures on unique layers as well, masked by the shape layers. So... lots of layers. I wouldn't do it this way again. Vector paths are far more versatile and would have actually saved time here, and most viewers won't be able to tell that each element has its own texture.
