Whistle while you WORK!

So I made this at work monday/tuesday. They wanted a graphic for a cocoon and butterfly with the theme of "Transformed" for a camp coming up in October. They actually planned ahead this time and gave me plenty of notice!

So this first one.... well I really don't know what they are using them for yet.

These came after the first one, they wanted a heading type of image with the cocoon, a cross, and the butterfly. I like fancy crosses, but wanted something kinda simple, so I made that, and it looked as if it were making heart shapes so the middle one I put the red shape behind just that, and the bottom one I wanted to see what it would look like with the whole thing red. I gave them all three and they havnt responded to which one they like, or if they even like it.

I think the last one is the one that I like the best I think the cross pops out the best in it. I do find the first interesting with the blood splatter even if I don't understand why there is blood splatter for a camp thing.

It's not necessarily blood spatter. >_>

I'm really digging the first one all around, but for two things:
1)the type's location is fine, though the face perhaps not well-chosen (everything in the image is very ornate and elaborate, it could either continue with that idea and be very elegant and flowing, or contrast with the image by being very simplistic. my money is on elegant.), and
2) there's something bugging me about the cocoon. Maybe it should be thinner near the center, sort of hourglass-like? I think it needs a highlight on the left side too, as if it's shiny.

And the second one, it's tough because there's some balance issues. the cocoon is so much thinner than the butterfly and the graphic symbol, but it still feels like the symbol should be centered with the chrysalis and butterfly equidistant from it. perhaps scale the butterfly down a bit?
Also, on the first two it could be fun if you knocked off the red on the left of the T and right of the D so the form of the letters was implied. You should try it out, see if it still reads clearly.
