Bloody arm!

Well, heres the arm that I was working on a few months ago. Looks really stupid. But thats how I was feeling then. ..... Eh!? Anyways, it looks really bad...it got too muddy (oil paint) so the blood trail is a big mess! But I tried. ^^;

New Painting

Heres a self portrait study I did this weekend. Oil on Canvas, 15x14. With Duncan's help I figured out why its so different than the rest of my paintings, the values are a lot closer to each other and more gradual than my usual high contrasting paintings. It was very fun and very quick, took me about an hour and a half to do this.

Jeab of Hufflepuff House

Hey all, been a while hasn't it? I've been keeping an eye on the blog and seen some great work going up, despite the fact I haven't commented on anything. I'll have to rectify that once I get some sleep this weekend.

Anyways, finally finished the last Hogwart's portrait I was requested to do, our fellow blogger Jeab. Too bad she's out of the country right now... Oh well, it'll be a pleasant surprise for her when she get's back.

Originally when I started doing these I did the color very simply so it could be quick and easy. I forgot what brushes I used though, so it got way too time consuming to do color versions consistent with the previous characters, especially considering the simplicity of the results.

I have no idea why so many of you guys are in Hufflepuff. I guess you all are really into badgers.

Weirdos.

Sketchin the night away: Part 2

Heres more sketches from cafe's and a few from camp. Playing with some water color!

Sketchin the night away

Sorry, its been awhile. Here are some sketches, mostly from cafes with Duncan and Craigers.

I'm practicing my ovals (at the Globe & Starbucci's with Duncan and Jerms)

There once was a day when I suppose I was drawing more frequently and had the proper control of my hand enough to make an nice even oval. I'm an old man I guess, but more so just out of practice. So I apologize for the lid on the far right.

Fallen

This is my first abstract painting of a Fallen. It was weird working on it because I've never done fine art work before. So my eyes is not used to it. But it looks better up close than the picture though, you can actually see what's really going on in it. If you look at the background, there's a mountain, the green to the right is trees, down from it is waterfall, a white horizontal is a bird, a long dark brownish going across under the bird is a bridge. Down further is a group of red flowers and a river under it. Can you see it? I hope the explaining helps a bit and how much would this piece cost? Any idea?

James and the Giant Peach

Well, here's the type logo for "James and the Giant Peach" I've been making on and off for about 3 months. I'm happy with the way this turned out (thanks to some great advice from my AG friend Sara).

The original plan was to make the entirety of the book cover myself, but after some deliberation with Jeremy we decided this would be an excellent project to collaborate on, as we've been planning to work together for some time. Enjoy, and look forward to more from us on this!

EDIT: I have no idea why it's an olive color, it's supposed to be black. Whatever, it looks hawt like this, for now.

Another night at the globe...
