Rehoboth band stand

Trying to figure out the perpetive on the band stand gave me a good amount of trouble, so it toke me a while to do this drawing. I been trying to get the hang of perpestive and pen and ink drawings so thats one of the reason why I been doing a lot of ramdom drawings like benches and band stands and light house.

You seem to place a strong emphasis on horizontal lines a lot. In this case, the set of stairs closest to us, the roof[s] of the bandstand, and the structure in the distance all have long, straight horizontal lines. These flatten the image a bit since they confuse foreground and background to the viewer's eye.

One thing you can consider is if you are drawing these from life, find a good spot that if you look carefully doesn't have many horizontal lines to it, but instead diagonals.

On the plus side, I like how you're handling the shading. :)

Duncan you should try something that you are usally stay away from because just by trying to draw it you can learn a lot. Plus it will be a challoge and trying to challenge you self it the best way to improve.
